Spotting cancer early saves lives

Talk Cancer

Talk Cancer is a campaign focusing on building a network of Cancer Ambassadors that can raise awareness of cancer in their local communities. More people can survive cancer if it is caught early, so it is important for us to keep talking about it. The campaign is aimed at non-healthcare professionals. A free training workshop is provided to all ambassadors to help you feel confident about talking to people about ways to reduce the risk of cancer, spotting cancer early and screening.

The three hour workshop is delivered by Cancer Research UK in London. The workshop will help you to:

  • Understand key messages around cancer awareness
  • Improve confidence and ‘know how’ to make the most of conversations with clients, customers and other people in your community
  • Encourage people to make healthy lifestyle changes, use local services and contact their GP with any concerns.

Please contact us by email for more information about attending a course on uclh.smallc@nhs.net

If you work for an organisation that would be interested in arranging a Talk Cancer training session, please contact us by email on uclh.smallc@nhs.net
